Clendennen has Mainstage Presence at Aveda Congress
Local Stylist Helps Create International Collection and Sets Trends
One of Houston's most popular hair stylists, Dennis Clendennen, was selected as one of three Aveda hair styling educators to create the cuts for Aveda's Fall/Winter 2005 Collection in collaboration with three of fashion's hottest eco-couture clothing designers. Dennis also had the honor of demonstrating the Collection onstage in Minneapolis during Aveda's Congress to over 3500 people.
Dennis Clendennen is the co-founder and principal hair designer of Dionysus Salon~Spa located at Market Street in The Woodlands.
“Dennis came into the Collection (shoot) showing outstanding creative ideas,” says Peter Gray, the Aveda producer of the collection. “He's a great guy and very talented.”
Keanan Duffty, Deborah Milner and Bruce are the clothing designers that have partnered with Aveda on this new collection. The three teams have created clothing in accordance with Aveda's mission of environmental sustainability, utilizing organic fabrics, fair trade and natural dyes.
Clendennen teamed with British-born designer Keanan Duffty, known for his iconic, street-style looks. His clothing is available at premium specialty stores around the world including Bloomingdale's and Bergdorf Goodman. Keanan is at the top of his game right now and his designs were perfectly complimented by the beautiful makeup, bold hair colors and softly sculpted haircuts created by Aveda artists Anna Conte, Stephen Falvo and Clendennen.
Aveda's collection is created to inspire trends for consumers. Clendennen says, “We take these new ideas as inspiration to create new and individually crafted looks on our guests. This is just one part of the on-going weekly training that our team at Dionysus undergoes to always bring the latest styles to our guests.”
This is not the first time Aveda has tapped Clendennen's talent; he has styled hair for close to thirty runway shows over the past three seasons during New York Fashion Week. He has also demonstrated onstage and taught the latest techniques to other professionals in over thirty states.
With Clendennen on this international artistic team, he not only brings the new trends back to Houston, but he is actually creating the trends, not only for Houston, but for the rest of the world, too.
